"You're such a weirdo"
"'Cos I am and we're together"
Good enough explanation I guess. These are the wise words of my boyfriend as he absorbs himself in a military spoof of Grand Theft Auto on his beloved Playstation 3. It's been a long weekend of new year celebrations, a dangerous cocktail of drugs, alcohol and strange sleeping patterns, an attempted afternoon of healthy mountain walking culminated in a mountain of food washed down with beer and porn star martinis, followed by a good dose of facebook stalking and several cigarettes. It's my seventh day back in Cape Town, and I've received a bristling welcome from my good friend the 'South Easter' who has graciously left my hair in familiar windswept tatters. I can rest assured however, that I'm back with my fellow weirdo, who accepts me tatters and all, and a landscape that lends itself to my new camera for lots of wonderful colourful picture taking. So what does 2011 hold for me here in the Mother City? Well I guess that's entirely up to me, my new years resolution: to make things, to make my existence, to remember to do the things that I really want to do, to make lists and tick them off...
Make a leather bag
Get references from my magazines and make jewelery
Fill the four piece picture frame
Send my mum and my grannie and my dad and my grandma postcards
Organise the flat
Love and accept love
Believe in myself
Through it all; don't take myself too seriously
